Our Outstanding Nursery

September 30, 2017

This isn’t just an ordinary nursery, this is a Yellow Wellies Outstanding Nursery. Open all year, we can be found in Bishop Auckland with easy access from the A688.

Following our recent Ofsted inspection, we wanted to share some of the brilliant and exciting opportunities that we offer children here at Yellow Wellies.

‘Children are extremely well looked after.’

From your child’s first day with us to the day they leave for school they are welcomed by a key worker and introduced to a family group. ‘Relationships between staff and children are exceptionally strong. Children develop strong emotional attachments with their key person and friendships with their peers.’ It is not only important that we have a strong trusting relationship with your child but also you, the parents, too.

Regarding the nursery environment, Ofsted said ‘The learning environment is exceptionally well organised and resourced to promote independent learning.’ For us as a team it is all about the children taking the lead in their own learning we simply provide the space, time and resources. Together we plan and deliver ‘extremely interesting and engaging projects’ this could be linked to recent holidays, weekend adventures or their favourite children’s character. We’ve recent cared for chicks and now the children are observing the life cycle of a butterfly.

Here at Yellow wellies there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes. We can be often found outside exploring our large nursery garden in all weathers. ‘The Outdoor area is extremely well resourced. It offers a wide range of opportunities for children to take part in physical challenges and manage their own safety.’ This is another area that the children take ownership for and achievement from; they plant their own flowers and vegetables, create construction areas and build homes for the insects we find hiding outside.

All children thrive in the stimulating and wholly inclusive environment.’ From babies, right through to our ‘big children’ leaving for school we have a strong team that are highly qualified and very knowledgeable about child development. We work hard to ensure that your children’s needs are met and that they are ready for their next big adventure when they leave us.

If you are looking for a caring, creative and supportive nursery that will provide your child with care, attention and super-fun activities, come and visit us.
